Pomerian Medical University (Pomorski Uniwersytet Medyczny) – Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, established in 1948, is a public (State-owned) medical university. PMU offers studies in 12 different fields on 4 Faculties available: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medical Biotechnology and Laboratory Medicine. PMU offers studies on all three levels: first cycle (bachelor), second cycle (master), third cycle (PhD), and long cycle (master; applies to medical and dental studies only).

Study programmes
General medicine:

6-years program of General Medicine (Asklepios program) taking place in Klinikum Uckerman in Schwedt in Germany and Szczecin in Poland– special program for German nationals. First three years of studies are oriented on such sciences as: Morphological sciences; Scientific basis of medicine and Preclinical sciences. First, second and third year of studies are semester-based. The language of instruction during year 1, 2 and 3 is English. Fourth and fifth year of studies will be conducted in a co-called block system. Those two years of studies are focused on the following four domains: Behavioral sciences with elements of professionalism; Clinical sciences; Clinical sciences with patients’ treatment; Legal and organizational basis of medicine. In the last year of studying, there is practical training with 30 weeks.
Last 3 years of studying are possible in Germany (in German language and setting). Plan of studies include courses taught in German and taught by German tutors.

Tuition fees:

General Medicine (Asklepios program) has tuition fees 13800€ for first year and 13500€ for upcoming years.

Documents needed for an entrance examination:

Following documents must be submitted for 6-years Asklepios program:
1. Proof of payment of registration fee – photocopy
2. Original of application form
3. Verified high school diploma or secondary school leaving diploma
4. Minimum of B2 English proficiency certificate
5. Eligibility declaration
6. Photocopy of passport or National ID card
7. Full health certificate
8. Proof of vaccination against hepatitis B
9. BIrth certificate translated to English or Polish
10. Health insurance valid in Poland
11. 3x passport photo

Deadline for submitting documents for an entrance examination:

In 2016, registration perion for online registration was 1st of June until 31st of August and documents had to be submitted until 23rd of September.
