The four year program is designed for College Graduates who have taken Biology I+II, Chemistry I+II and Physics I+II all with Lab. All US Students must also take the MCAT.
The curriculum at PUMS is based on the American M.D. program and follows the American standards of education. The University is recognized by the United States Department of Education and by the relevant student loan providers.

The program aims at offering theoretical knowledge and practical skills through highly qualified teaching combined with opportunity to exercise it in practice in the most modern preclinical and clinical medical complexes in Bulgaria. The training course in Medicine is conducted on the basis of a curriculum which is made according to the Unified state requirements for the master’s degree in the specialty ‘Doctor of Medicine’’ and the qualification of a General Practitioner. Program has 6 years (12 semesters) and starts in October. There is no spring intake.
Program of General medicine has 6 years and is completely taught in English. Program is comprised of 360 ECTS credits or in other words, 5,500 hours of theoretical and practical university teaching. Course of general medicine is full-time and open for applicants from all over the world.
From 2002/03, courses organized in blocks were also implemented in preclinical subjects.
University provides undergraduate and graduate education in program General medicine for international students and bachelor level of nursing.
Program of General medicine is offered at University of Split and takes 6 years in total and contains 5500 hours of teaching. Class is limited to 50 students. Degree of medical doctor is awarded to students after graduation. Students need to take 250 hours of elective courses (20 ECTS credits) and 640 hours of clinical rotations with sum of 45 ECTS credits (890 hours). Four more courses are verticalised. Program of General medicine is offered from study year 2011/2012. Graduates have an option to write USMLE exams (for USA) and MCC (for Canada) medical licencing exams.
There is only program of General medicine offered for international students.
6-years Master program of general medicine is completely taught in English and contains load of 360 ECTS credits of which at least 60 credits are acquired via training activities aimed at developing professional skills. Course also contains course from Italian language . The teaching process takes advantage of modern educational tools, such as tutorial systems, clinical trigger, problem-oriented learning, experiential learning, problem solving, decision making and extensive use of seminars and conferences.
Course of Medicine and Surgery has 6 years and is completely taught in English and is open to students from all over the world. The aim of this degree is to educate students to the highest standards of medical practice, train specialised clinicians in patient-centred medicine and tackle crucial issues in the mechanisms, prevention and treatment of disease, as well as health care and basic science. Sapienza places a strong emphasis on developing clinical skills throughout the course of the programme and teaching often takes place in Sapienza’s three specialist hospitals: Policlinico, Sant’Andrea and Latina.
Program of Medicine and Surgery takes 6 years and is completely taught in English. The International Medical degree programme – which is held at the facilities of LITA-Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Advanced Technologies, in Segrate (preclinical activities/first two years of the programme) and at “Luigi Sacco” Hospital, in Milan (clinical training/ years 3-6) – aims to contribute to the process of cultural and professional integration through an international training structure. In addition to lessons and didactic activities held entirely in English, the programme includes training periods abroad and courses provided by tutors from prestigious foreign universities. The course is also distinguished by a number of innovative teaching methods, connected to the use of advanced training tools such as PBL (problem based learning), interactive sessions and small groups, a strong sense of interdisciplinarity, internships in research laboratories, and broad clinical training characterised by a tutoring system which is particularly conducive to learning.
Graguates are awarded degree MD (Medical doctor). In order to be awarded degree, students must do 3 months internship and take national licencing examination – the Esame di Stato di abilitazione all’esercizio della professione di Medico Chirurgo.
